Netherlands

Netherlands  is a small densely populated country, that can be found in western Europe. A part of the kingdom of the Netherlands. It also has three islands from the Caribbean islands. The capital of Netherlands is Amsterdam, a well known city worldwide. The country name literally means low land, since its quite low  having the average height of the country a bit less then 1 meter above the sea level and being almost flat compared to other areas.

Economy

Having a place in the top 10 for GDP and around 17th place in the index of economic freedom, meaning that Netherlands is in good place regarding the economical stability and the future of the country. Having such a great economy also making the country on of the happiest countries in the world, 4th place to be exact. Don't know how well can you relay on such an information, as if was so easy to measure the happiness of people, but still its probably a great place to live. Having a great economy, happy people and not only that but also being one of the most developed countries in the world sure makes Netherlands a great place for all kind of business needs.

Agriculture

The agriculture sector is massive in Netherlands, they export quarter of all produced tomatoes, and almost two thirds of all produced flowers, fresh cut plants, and flower bulbs world wide. The chili export is also quite notable, as they export around one third of the worldwide produced.

Transport

Netherlands has one of the larges ports in the world, and the largest in Europe. The port is called Rotterdam and handles around 440 million metric tonnes of cargo yearly.

Care for environment

As an effort to reduce part of the yearly emissions the government of the Netherlands has planned to build around 200 electric vehicle recharge stations around the country. Hoping that it would popularize the use of electric cars and reduce at least some part of the pollution.

Currency

The official currency of the Netherlands is Eur.

Language

The official language is Dutch, although its not the most used language by the public. On the street you mostly can find people speaking English and German.

Incorporation

Companies in the Netherlands are incorporated on the bases of the Commercial Code of the Netherlands and The Flex-BV Act 2012. The formation of the documents for incorporation have to be done in the Dutch language. The usual incorporation times range from 3 weeks to a month. In order to register a company a local office also has to be registered. The minimum number of shareholders is one and a secretary in not obligatory. The director of the company may be a natural or a corporate body, doesn't need to reside in the Netherlands and also may be of any nationality.

Taxation

The taxation for corporate bodies are as follows:
  • 20% for income up to €200,000,
  • 25% for income above €200,000,
  • Dividends are subject to withholding tax at 15%.
To this I may add that Netherlands has a double tax treaty with more than 95 countries. Also there are no yearly fees that have to be paid to the government.

Netherlands in a rich country, that sometimes may be used for and offshore purposes due the great business advantages the stable economy offers. I have to note that some of the information in this article may be out of date and may need revision in the future.
