Luxembourg

Luxembourg is a quite small landlocked country in the western Europe. Its in the list of the highest GDP in the world, taking second place, falling behind Qatar. Luxembourg is in a very favorable location regarding its economical state, being a member of such groups as European Union, NATO, OECD, the United Nations, and Benelux. Making not only it's economy stable, but also the political and military fields. The stability of the economy of Luxembourg may be of concern to some people and may need to be addressed in the future.

Incorporation

Luxembourg offers two company types for incorporation purposes. The first two are S.A.R.L. (Société à Responsabilitée Limitée) and S.A. (Société Anonyme). Simply explaining both companies are incorporated for trading purposes. The second is 1990 Société de Participation Financiére (SOPARFI) winch is a holding company. The incorporation times are fast compared to other location I have mentioned - usually less that two business days.

Directors

For a holding company the minimum number of directors are three and they can be of any nationality, but the government suggests that may be local. The board meetings of the company may take anywhere in the world. For a trading company the minimum number of directors are one and they may be of any nationality and may reside any where in the world. The company board meeting also may take place anywhere in the world.

Shareholders

The minimum number of shareholders for a holding company are two. The records of them are not publicly available and the shareholder meetings may take place anywhere in the world. The same applies to the trading companies, only difference is that the minimum number of shareholders is one.

Local office

A local office is required for both types of companies.

Taxation

The taxation for a holding company is relatively low, more on taxation in Luxembourg may be added in the future. The taxation for a trading company is 22.80%. That's quite a lot you may say, but since Luxembourg has many double taxation agreements, you may find a taxation treaty that meets your company needs.
